Arsenal have had an approach for England and Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott rejected.
The Cherries – who have qualified for the Europa League for the first time in their history – insist the midfielder is not for sale and are planning on offering him a new contract, according to the Daily Mail.
Arsenal did not make an official bid for Scott but are keen to bolster their midfielder this summer but have a number of options they are looking at.
Arsenal looking for midfield reinforcements
Newcastle’s Italian midfielder Sandro Tonali is an option, but they face competition from North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur for his signature.
Relegated West Ham’s Mateus Fernandes is also an option as is Lille’s Ayyoub Bouaddi but both players are highly converted by clubs across Europe.
Manchester United and Tottenham are the main runners for Fernandes so far.
United, Spurs and Chelsea are also interested in 22-year-old Scott who is valued close to £80m.
