Nigeria’s Flying Eagles have departed for Chile to finalize preparations for the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup. The team left on Sunday, with coach Aliyu Zubairu leading the squad.
The Flying Eagles began their build-up for the tournament last month in Abuja, participating in several friendly matches to prepare the players.
While in Chile, the team will play additional friendly games to fine-tune their squad ahead of the competition. Zubairu is expected to announce his final 23-man squad later this week.
Nigeria has been drawn in Group F alongside Colombia, Saudi Arabia, and Norway. The Flying Eagles will open their tournament campaign against Norway on Monday, September 29, 2025.
The team aims to enter the U-20 World Cup in top form and build on Nigeria’s strong youth football legacy.
