Manchester United winger Antony has revealed that he was treated with a lack of respect during his exile at the club.
The Brazilian forward returned to United following his loan spell at Real Betis, before eventually joining the Spanish side permanently in the summer in a deal worth an initial £21.5 million.
Antony spent weeks in limbo as the Red Devils lowered their asking price during the final days of the transfer window. The winger claims the experience left him feeling disrespected, stating that nobody would even greet him.
Speaking to ESPN Brazil, Antony said:
“Look, I’m not the kind of guy who gets involved in controversies, who names people, in fact, I won’t mention anyone’s name here. But I think there was a bit of a lack of respect there, even a bit of rudeness too, with no one giving you a good morning, a good afternoon.”
The winger’s comments shed light on his difficult final weeks at Manchester United before completing his move to Real Betis.
