Man United Open Contract Talks with Harry Maguire Amid Saudi Interest

Manchester United have opened talks with Harry Maguire over a new contract, even as Saudi Arabian clubs circle for his signature.

The 32-year-old defender has just eight months left on his current deal and will be free to negotiate with other clubs from January 1. Despite this, reports confirm that United are keen to extend his stay at Old Trafford.

šŸ”“ Leadership Role and Future Decision

Manager Ruben Amorim added Maguire to the new leadership group this season alongside Bruno Fernandes, Lisandro Martinez, Diogo Dalot, Noussair Mazraoui, and Tom Heaton.

Maguire has expressed his desire to stay in Manchester but may need to accept a pay cut to secure a renewal. Meanwhile, Al-Ettifaq and Al-Nassr—where Cristiano Ronaldo currently plays—are reportedly monitoring his situation.

United previously activated a one-year extension clause in his deal over the summer, a move Maguire said was done ā€œwithout consultation.ā€

Speaking about his contract, Maguire said:

ā€œIt’s an amazing club to play for, and you’d be silly if you wanted to jump out of it as soon as you could.ā€

āš–ļø Mykonos Case Update

Off the pitch, Maguire’s retrial over an alleged altercation in Mykonos has been delayed for the fourth time. The case, which dates back to 2020, has now been postponed until March 2026, with reports suggesting it could expire under Greece’s statute of limitations by 2028.
