Ange Postecoglou celebrating Europa League victory with Tottenham Hotspur

Ange Postecoglou Nottingham Forest has been appointed as the club’s new head coach after Nuno Espirito Santo’s exit. The Australian manager signs a two-year deal to strengthen Forest’s Premier League and European ambitions.

Postecoglou’s Appointment at Nottingham Forest

Forest confirmed the appointment on September 9, 2025. Nuno Espirito Santo left the club after disagreements with owner Evangelos Marinakis. Postecoglou brings experience from managing Celtic, Yokohama F. Marinos, and Tottenham Hotspur.

“We are bringing a coach with a proven record of winning trophies. His experience and ambition make him ideal for Forest,” said Marinakis.

A Proven Winner

Postecoglou led Tottenham Hotspur to the Europa League title in May 2025. He also won back-to-back Scottish league titles with Celtic and enjoyed success in Japan with Yokohama F. Marinos.

Forest’s Current Form and Ambitions

Forest returns to European competitions for the first time in three decades. They currently have four points from three Premier League matches. Postecoglou’s first away match will be against Arsenal, where he may face a hostile reception from North London fans.

Looking Ahead

Postecoglou aims to stabilize Forest’s Premier League form, succeed in Europe, and build long-term club growth. His appointment signals Forest’s ambition to compete at the top level.
