Former world heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua has been involved in a fatal road accident in Nigeria’s Ogun State, local police have confirmed.

According to the Ogun State Police Command, the 36-year-old Briton sustained minor injuries after his vehicle collided with another car on Monday. Tragically, two people lost their lives in the incident.

Authorities said investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the crash. No further details have been released at this stage.

Joshua could not be immediately reached for comment following the incident.

The British-Nigerian boxer, one of the most recognisable figures in global boxing, has been in the spotlight recently after high-profile appearances and bouts, but this incident has sparked concern among fans worldwide.

More updates are expected as officials continue their investigation.
