Arsenal have confirmed that Bukayo Saka has signed a new long term contract that will keep him at the club until 2030.
The 24 year old winger has agreed a four and a half year extension, reportedly making him the highest paid player at the club. The new deal reflects his importance to Mikel Arteta’s side and rewards his consistent performances over recent seasons.
Saka has scored 78 goals in nearly 300 appearances since progressing through Arsenal’s academy. No player has featured more under Arteta since the manager took charge in December 2019, underlining his influence within the squad.
After signing the contract, Saka expressed his excitement about continuing his journey in North London.
He said he felt immense joy to extend his stay and described it as an easy decision. The England international added that both his personal journey and the team’s development have been special, and he believes the coming years will be crucial in the club’s pursuit of major trophies.
Arsenal have prioritised securing the futures of key players in recent months. Gabriel and William Saliba signed new contracts last summer, while academy graduates Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis Skelly also committed their futures to the club. Talks are ongoing with Jurrien Timber over a potential new agreement.
Saka’s renewal provides a major boost for Arsenal ahead of a crucial North London Derby against Tottenham. The Gunners remain top of the Premier League, although Manchester City are close behind with a game in hand.
With Saka now tied down for the long term, Arsenal will hope stability off the pitch translates into continued success on it as they aim to compete for silverware in the coming seasons.
