Bafode Diakite Bournemouth Transfer Completed

Bournemouth have officially completed the Bafode Diakite Bournemouth transfer, signing the talented centre-back from Lille on a five-year deal. This move makes Diakite the second most expensive signing in the club’s history.

Although official fees were not released, reports suggest the deal is worth €35 million ($41 million) plus €5 million ($5.86 million) in add-ons. This is second only to the £40.2 million ($54.49 million) Bournemouth spent on Evanilson last year.

Strengthening the Defense

Diakite joins Andoni Iraola’s squad, wearing the number 18 shirt, and is expected to feature in Bournemouth’s Premier League opener against Liverpool. The 24-year-old scored 13 goals in 112 appearances for Lille, including four in 48 games last season.

His arrival helps strengthen Bournemouth’s defense following the departures of Dean Huijsen to Real Madrid and Illia Zabarnyi to Paris Saint-Germain. Fans are eager to see how Diakite’s ball-playing style can influence the team’s performance this season.

Player Statement

“I know the coach has great ideas, which enables us to play well in the Premier League,” said Diakite. “Now I’m at the club, it’s a good opportunity to show how I can help the team going forward. I’m a defender who likes to have the ball and play with it, and I hope to show my qualities both with and without it. I will give everything for the team, and I hope we will have some great moments together.”
