Milwaukee Bucks have officially re-signed forward Thanasis Antetokounmpo, older brother of superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo, following his recovery from a torn Achilles tendon that sidelined him for the 2024-25 season. Thanasis, 33, is currently playing for Greece in EuroBasket 2025.
The contract, guaranteed for one year and valued at $2.9 million according to ESPN, confirms Giannis’ commitment to start the upcoming season with Milwaukee.
During the 2023-24 season, Thanasis appeared in 34 games as a reserve, averaging 0.9 points, 0.4 rebounds, and 0.5 assists over 4.6 minutes per game. Over his career, he has played 198 games for the New York Knicks and Bucks, averaging 2.4 points, 1.6 rebounds, and 0.6 assists in 7.7 minutes.
New York originally selected Thanasis in the second round of the 2014 NBA Draft, though he spent time in overseas leagues before signing as a free agent with Milwaukee in July 2019.
