Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish has confirmed that the club have opened early discussions with manager Oliver Glasner regarding a new contract as they look to secure his long-term future at Selhurst Park.
Glasner, who took charge in February 2024, is set to see his current deal expire at the end of the season. Since arriving, he has transformed the club’s fortunes and delivered historic success.
Under his leadership, Palace won the first major trophy in their history, defeating Manchester City 1-0 in the FA Cup final, and later claimed the Community Shield, beating Liverpool on penalties. The Eagles are also competing in European football for the first time, marking a new era for the club.
Palace also enjoyed their longest-ever unbeaten run, going 19 matches without defeat in all competitions before their narrow loss to Everton.
Despite being linked with Bayern Munich and Manchester United, Parish made it clear that Palace are keen to keep Glasner.
“We’ve had some early conversations. We would love to keep Oliver; we’re building something,” Parish said. “Oliver wants to win things. If we can align those interests, hopefully we can make something happen.”
Adam Wharton Also Attracting Interest
Midfielder Adam Wharton has also emerged as a major talent, attracting interest from top clubs including Manchester United. He has created more chances (11) than any other Palace player in the Premier League this season and leads the squad with 1.3 expected assists (xA), although he is yet to record an assist.
Parish acknowledged the growing attention but believes Wharton remains focused.
“I think Adam will want to play Champions League football — hopefully with us, but if not, then somewhere else. He’s an extraordinary talent.”
