Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has addressed the possibility of Eberechi Eze taking Martin Odegaard’s role in the upcoming Premier League match against Liverpool.
Eze made his debut for the Gunners in front of the Emirates Stadium crowd during their 5-0 victory over Leeds United.
During that game, Odegaard suffered a shoulder problem, making him a major doubt for Sunday’s trip to Anfield.
When asked whether Eze could play in Odegaard’s position against Liverpool, Arteta told reporters:
“We have options in that position and that’s the good thing we have this year. Let’s see [on Odegaard]. Another day. I’m not going to give you any more clues!”
On Eze’s versatility, Arteta added:
“We have a lot of players who can play in different positions and fill gaps. That is going to be very necessary, so very happy to have the ability to do that.”
