Ekol TV commentator Erman Toroğlu has strongly criticised Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen, questioning the Nigerian forward’s finishing ability and overall organization on the pitch.
Toroğlu made the remarks following Galatasaray’s emphatic 4–1 victory over Antalyaspor in the Turkish Super Lig on Saturday. Osimhen was among the goalscorers, alongside Mauro Icardi, Leroy Sané and Roland Sallai.
Despite the convincing win, Toroğlu insisted Osimhen falls short when compared to his teammate Icardi, particularly in front of goal.
“Osimhen is quick and agile, okay, but he doesn’t have Icardi’s shooting technique,” Toroğlu said. “If those chances had fallen to Icardi in this match, he would have scored. A fully fit Icardi would keep Osimhen on the bench.”
The former referee went further, describing Osimhen as a disorganized player with poor finishing.
“Osimhen has no finishing ability. He’s a bad, disorganized player. He came to Galatasaray for the money. Why didn’t he go to England or Germany? Maybe they didn’t think he was good enough,” Toroğlu added.
The comments are likely to spark debate, especially after Osimhen’s continued contributions to Galatasaray’s strong league form this season.
