    Despite dominating possession for much of the first half, Germany struggled to convert chances into goals. Serge Gnabry opened the scoring in the 7th minute, but Northern Ireland leveled in the 34th minute with a stunning volley from Isaac Price.

    The breakthrough came in the second half when substitute Nadiem Amiri tapped in a close-range goal in the 69th minute. Just three minutes later, Florian Wirtz curled a brilliant free kick into the top corner to secure the 3-1 win, sending the home crowd at RheinEnergieStadion into celebration.

    Germany’s Next Fixtures in Group A

    Germany will take on Luxembourg on October 10 before traveling to Northern Ireland three days later. Group winners automatically qualify for the World Cup, while the runners-up enter a playoff.
