Serie A: Gift Orban excited for new adventure at Hellas Verona

Gift Orban unveiled as new Hellas Verona striker on loan from Hoffenheim

Nigerian forward Gift Orban is eager to kick off his new chapter in Italy after sealing a loan move to Hellas Verona from Bundesliga side TSG Hoffenheim.

The deal, confirmed on Wednesday, includes a €1m loan fee with an €8m option to buy at the end of the season should Verona choose to make the transfer permanent.

Orban, 22, joined Hoffenheim from Olympique Lyon in January but struggled for game time, scoring four goals in 16 appearances for the German side.

Now, the striker is determined to prove himself in Serie A.

“I’m proud to begin this new adventure with such a wonderful club. Thank you for this opportunity — I will give everything on the pitch for these colours. I can’t wait to get started,” Orban wrote on his X account.

Verona fans will be hoping Orban’s pace and finishing bring a new spark to their attack as the season unfolds.
