January Transfer Round-Up: Man Utd and Spurs Chase Kalulu, Chelsea Close on Jacquet, Guehi Near Man City Move

The January transfer window continues to gather pace, with several Premier League clubs making significant moves as the deadline approaches.

Manchester United and Tottenham are both reportedly interested in Juventus defender Pierre Kalulu, setting up a potential transfer battle between the two rivals. The versatile defender has attracted attention following Juventus’ willingness to listen to offers this month.

Chelsea remain active and are believed to have agreed personal terms with Rennes defender Jeremy Jacquet. However, negotiations between the clubs are ongoing, with Rennes holding out for a club-record fee believed to be in excess of £55 million. Bayern Munich are also monitoring the situation closely.

At Manchester City, a major defensive addition looks imminent. Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi has travelled north to complete a medical ahead of a £20 million move to the Etihad Stadium. The England international is also expected to receive a substantial wage increase as part of the deal.

Elsewhere, Raheem Sterling could be offered an escape route from Chelsea, with Napoli considering a move for the winger after freezing him out for much of the season. Napoli are reshaping their attack and see Sterling as a possible replacement for outgoing forwards.

Nottingham Forest remain busy, negotiating with Napoli over multiple deals. The club has agreed loan terms for striker Lorenzo Lucca, though the move is pending the player’s final decision. Forest have also seen an opening bid rejected for left-back Mathias Olivera, with Napoli demanding a higher fee.

In other confirmed and developing moves, Bournemouth are set to complete the signing of Alex Toth from Ferencváros following a successful medical, while Birmingham City have secured Ibrahim Osman on loan from Brighton. Leeds United have confirmed winger Jack Harrison has joined Fiorentina on loan with an option to buy.

West Ham are also active as they battle relegation, pursuing loan deals and weighing squad reshuffles, while Crystal Palace are standing firm on their valuation of striker Jean-Philippe Mateta, rejecting a loan-based approach from Juventus.

With multiple deals nearing completion and several high-profile names still in play, the final weeks of the January window promise further drama across the Premier League.
