Liverpool’s Rio Ngumoha Signs First Professional Contract at 17

Liverpool’s Rio Ngumoha celebrates after scoring on his Premier League debut against Newcastle United.

Liverpool’s teenage sensation, Rio Ngumoha, has signed his first professional contract with the club at just 17 years old.

Although the club did not disclose the full details, British media reports suggest the deal runs until 2028. Under FA rules, players under 18 can only sign contracts with a maximum term of three years.

Ngumoha has already made headlines this season. He came off the bench on his Premier League debut against Newcastle United last month and scored a dramatic 100th-minute winner, becoming Liverpool’s youngest-ever goalscorer.

The England youth international also played a role in Liverpool’s Champions League victory over Atletico Madrid at Anfield last week.

Ngumoha first featured for the Reds’ senior team in an FA Cup tie against Accrington Stanley in January. He joined Liverpool’s academy from Chelsea last year and has since made five senior appearances across competitions.

With his rapid rise, Liverpool fans are excited to see the youngster’s development as he takes his next big step at Anfield.
