Manchester United face Manchester City in the upcoming Premier League clash at the Etihad, but manager Ruben Amorim is dealing with several injury concerns. Here’s the latest on Matheus Cunha, Mason Mount, and Lisandro Martinez as the derby approaches.
Matheus Cunha Injury Update
Cunha suffered a hamstring injury during United’s 3-2 win over Burnley at Old Trafford before the international break. The Brazilian forward has since withdrawn from the Brazil squad for World Cup qualifiers.
Cunha, however, hinted on Instagram that his recovery may be quicker than first feared.
“I’ll be back soon, always with joy and gratitude. Thanks for all the messages,” Cunha wrote.

Mason Mount Fitness Concern
Mount also picked up an injury in the Burnley win, playing 30 minutes while carrying the knock before being taken off.
Amorim confirmed the issue after the match:
“It was hard to lose a player like Cunha and Mason Mount – Mount played like 30 minutes with an injury. They are so important for us, so we’ll see.”

With the derby against City looming, United will be hoping for late fitness boosts to strengthen their squad. Cunha and Mount could return, while Martinez is expected back later in the season.
