Manchester United Keep Ruben Amorim After Carabao Cup Exit

Manchester United have decided not to sack manager Ruben Amorim, despite a stunning Carabao Cup elimination at the hands of Grimsby Town earlier this week.

The League Two side made history by becoming the first fourth-tier club to knock United out of a competition. Grimsby Town took a two-goal lead into halftime, but late goals from Bryan Mbeumo and Harry Maguire seemed to give United hope. In the end, Grimsby triumphed in the penalty shoot-out, advancing to the third round.

Under Amorim, Manchester United have yet to win a match this season after three Premier League games, fueling speculation about the Portuguese manager’s future.

However, according to BBC Sport, Amorim, 40, still enjoys full support from the club hierarchy, who are keen to avoid making short-term, reactionary decisions.

“We are backing Ruben to lead the team through this challenging start to the season,” a club insider reportedly said.

Manchester United fans will be hoping Amorim can turn things around quickly, starting with their next Premier League fixture.
