French defender Presnel Kimpembe has officially ended his long spell at Paris Saint-Germain, joining Qatar Sports Club on a permanent transfer, the Ligue 1 champions confirmed on Sunday.

The 30-year-old centre-back spent two decades at PSG, having joined the academy in 2005 at just eight years old. Over the years, he became a fan favorite, making 241 appearances, scoring three goals, and captaining the side on 31 occasions.

Kimpembe played a key role in PSG’s dominance in French football, winning eight Ligue 1 titles, seven French Cups, six French Super Cups, and was part of the team that lifted the 2025 UEFA Champions League.

After suffering a long-term Achilles injury, the defender returned earlier this year and featured in five matches across all competitions.

PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi praised Kimpembe’s dedication and legacy:

“Since the age of eight, Presnel has grown and developed at every level within his beloved club, where he has always been an ambassador and model of professionalism. He will always be part of the Paris Saint-Germain family.”

On the international stage, Kimpembe has been capped 28 times for France, winning the 2018 FIFA World Cup and the UEFA Nations League in 2021.

As he begins a new chapter in Qatar, PSG fans will remember him as one of the club’s most loyal and decorated homegrown talents.
