Wayne Rooney, former Manchester United and Everton striker, has singled out four Liverpool players for special praise following the Reds’ 1-0 Premier League win against Arsenal on Sunday.
The players praised by Rooney are Ibrahima Konaté, Milos Kerkez, Virgil van Dijk, and Dominik Szoboszlai.
Rooney described the Liverpool stars as excellent in their performance against Arsenal at Anfield. Szoboszlai’s second-half goal secured all three points for Arne Slot’s side.
“Liverpool were fantastic in the individual battles,” Rooney told Match of the Day.
“They were not afraid to go in on Arsenal, especially on Gyokeres. I thought the back four – Ibrahima Konaté, Milos Kerkez, Virgil van Dijk, and Dominik Szoboszlai – were excellent in how they did that, especially Konaté and Van Dijk.”
