Scott McTominay rounded off a sensational year by adding another trophy to his collection after helping Napoli win the Italian Super Cup.
The Scotland international celebrated the success by sharing a photo from the dressing room alongside the trophy and his winner’s medal, summing up the moment with the word “Bellissimo” as Napoli secured yet another piece of silverware.
Napoli claimed a 2–0 victory over Bologna in the final, which was played in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Brazilian winger David Neres was the standout performer, scoring twice to seal the win. His first was a fine curling effort before the break, while his second came after capitalising on defensive hesitation late in the game.
Despite a spirited effort from Bologna, including a key goal-line clearance and a missed close-range header from Lewis Ferguson, Napoli remained in control and comfortably saw out the contest. The victory marked their second trophy of the calendar year and completed a rare league and Super Cup double for the club.
For McTominay, the triumph adds to an extraordinary 12 months in Italy. He played a key role in Napoli’s Serie A title win last season and was later named the league’s best player after scoring 13 goals in 36 appearances.
His international form has also been impressive, highlighted by a spectacular overhead kick that helped Scotland qualify for the World Cup for the first time in nearly three decades. The 29-year-old’s performances have even earned him Ballon d’Or recognition, finishing inside the top 20 this year.
With another medal now secured, McTominay’s impact at Napoli continues to grow, cementing his status as one of the club’s most influential figures during a truly memorable period of his career.
