The Texas Rangers delivered a historic offensive display on Wednesday night, thrashing the Los Angeles Angels 20-3 at Globe Life Field in Arlington.
Adolis Garcia, Joc Pederson, Corey Seager, and Kyle Higashioka all went deep as the Rangers overwhelmed a struggling Angels pitching staff. Garcia led the way with four hits and five RBIs, while Pederson added another five RBIs in the blowout.
It marked the first time since July 25, 2011, that Texas scored 20 or more runs in a game, tying for the third-most runs in franchise history. The Rangers have now won five of their last six games, keeping themselves in the American League wild-card chase.
Los Angeles starter Jack Kochanowicz (3-11), recalled from Triple-A Salt Lake just hours before the game, endured a nightmare outing, allowing 11 runs (10 earned) on nine hits and three walks in just 3 1/3 innings.
On the mound for Texas, Jacob Webb (5-4) earned the win after throwing 1 2/3 scoreless innings in relief of spot starter Jacob Latz. The Rangers finished with 22 total hits, with every batter in the lineup recording at least one.
