The third inning, lasting roughly 40 minutes, featured six homers in total for the Yankees, marking their second-highest run output in a single inning this season. Rice led off with a single against Cade Cavalli, followed by Judge’s homer into the netting above Monument Park. Bellinger followed with a home run over the right-center field fence, giving New York a 4-0 lead.
McMahon’s three-run shot and Rice’s solo homer extended the lead to 9-0. Rookie Jasson Dominguez contributed with an RBI double and a run-scoring infield single, while Austin Wells added a homer in the fourth inning.
Max Fried started for the Yankees, carrying a no-hit bid into the sixth inning and allowing only one run on four hits across seven innings. Fried struck out six, walked two, and induced ten ground-ball outs.
Cade Cavalli struggled for the Nationals, giving up eight runs (seven earned) on eight hits in just 2 1/3 innings. Washington dropped their fifth straight game, being outscored 26-8 in the three-game series and surrendering six homers for the second time this season.
The Yankees collected 13 hits in total, marking their fourth consecutive win and demonstrating their offensive depth and power. Paul Blackburn closed out the game for New York after Andres Chaparro’s solo homer in the ninth for Washington.
