🍀 Palace take big step towards UECL final with big stroke of fortune

Crystal Palace held a healthy 3-1 aggregate lead heading into their Conference League semi-final against Shakhtar Donetsk.

The Eagles returned to Selhurst Park knowing that a draw or better would seal a spot in their first-ever European final.

Oliver Glasner’s side were given a couple of early frights from a determined Shakhtar side, but any tension was eased midway through the first half.

Daniel Munoz reacted first to Dmytro Riznyk’s save from Adam Wharton’s shot and crossed low back into the box.

Fortunately for Palace, the ball bounced off Pedro Henrique’s knee before seemingly clipping both posts and bundling over the line.

Despite the early advantage, Palace conceded before half time, leaving the aggregate score at 4-2.
