The 2026 NSCIF softball first-round playoff matchups are set after a predictable play-in round in which every higher seed advanced.
Foothill, West Valley and U-Prep are the only Redding-area teams remaining in the postseason. Foothill holds the No. 4 seed in Division II, West Valley is No. 1 in Division III and U-Prep holds the No. 3 seed in Division IV.
All first-round games will be played at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, May 19 at the higher-ranked team’s home field. See the complete first round schedule for the 2026 Northern Section softball playoffs.
Division II
- No. 4 Foothill (15-13) at No. 1 Las Plumas (25-1-1)
- No. 3 Pleasant Valley (18-9) at No. 2 Chico (22-5)
Division III
- No. 4 Live Oak (13-9) at No. 1 West Valley (25-2)
- No. 3 Yreka (15-13) at No. 2 Lassen (20-7)
Division IV
- No. 4 Winters (14-14) at No. 1 Colusa (16-11-1)
- No. 3 U-Prep (11-16) at No. 2 Durham (16-9)
Division V
- No. 4 Los Molinos (22-3-1) at No. 1 East Nicolaus (22-1)
- No. 3 Biggs (22-6) at No. 2 Quincy (16-3-1)
Division VI
- No. 4 Loyalton (13-11) at No. 1 Etna (13-14)
- No. 3 Chester (17-9) at No. 2 Burney (17-8-2)
