49ers add another RB to room ahead of 2026 season

The San Francisco 49ers keep bringing in running backs. After drafting Kaelon Black in the third round of the 2026 NFL draft, San Francisco signed former Las Vegas Raiders running back Sincere McCormick, per his agency.

McCormick, 25, spent the 2025 season on multiple practice squads, including the 49ers. He was an undrafted free agent out of UTSA in 2022 and didn’t see a regular-season snap until 2024 with the Raiders. McCormick rushed 39 times for 183 yards in five games, including two starts. He also caught six receptions for 29 yards.

With McCormick in tow, the 49ers have five running backs on their roster: Christian McCaffrey, Jordan James, Patrick Taylor, Black and McCormick. McCaffrey and Black are likely safe, as is James (a fifth-rounder from 2025). That leaves a potential battle between Taylor and McCormick for the fourth RB spot, if the 49ers want to keep that many on the roster.

McCormick was with the team for almost two months at the beginning of the 2025 season, so he has familiarity with the offense. But, more than likely, McCormick will be a training-camp body for the offseason and a crowded running back room.
