Sheffield vs Blackburn: Super Eagles star reveals what Rovers must do to secure 3 points

Super Eagles and Blackburn Rovers full-back Ryan Alebiosu has issued a rallying call to his teammates amid their fight for safety in the EFL Championship, <a href=”https://www.afrik-foot.com/en-ng/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Afrik Foot reports.

Michael O’Neill’s side have won just one of their last five games, although they’ve also lost just one of those.

Alebiosu particularly, put up a brilliant performance against Championship winners Coventry City last time out, and has charged his teammates to follow suit in the remaining two league games.

Alebiosu issues rallying call to Blackburn teammates

Blackburn Rovers are currently 21st on the EFL Championship table, five points above Oxford United who have three games left to spare.

Ahead of the clash against 12th-placed Sheffield United tomorrow night, Alebiosu backed his side to strive for every possible point.

<blockquote class=”wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow”>

“Every point is so valuable,” the Super Eagles defender said in an interview with the <a href=”https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/26036443.blackburn-rovers-reminder-biggest-transfer-success/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Lancashire Telegraph.

“We need everything we can get to survive. It’s a good point even if we were so close to three.

“I think performances like that [the game against Coventry City] and we’ll be fine. The boys were together and the substitutes coming on made a difference. The whole togetherness from the start to the end.

“If we take that to the next two games, we will be fine, 100%.

“It’s frustrating to give away that goal in the last five minutes. It’s a point and we have a huge game now on Wednesday that we’re looking forward to.

“We played a good game, we got ourselves ahead. We knew it wouldn’t be easy and they wanted to come here to get promoted. It was a great performance, the last five minutes is just frustrating, it’s minor details.

“These last few games are big games for us. We have to win our battles. They dug deep and we’re raring to go,” the former Arsenal defender concluded.

In his first full season in England as a professional footballer, Alebiosu has made quite an impression.

His brilliant run forward saw him linked with a move abroad in the winter transfer window, but away from that, he also made his first appearance for Nigeria at the AFCON tournament in Morocco.

Should the Rovers secure Championship status, it’ll be a huge task for them to hold on to the right wing-back.
