Kamari Ramsey can become next star Trojan safety in Houston

The Houston Texans hit it out of the park with their NFL draft selection of Calen Bullock. He is now one of the best safeties in the league in only two years. Now, another USC safety comes to Houston: Kamari Ramsey.

In a recent article, Cole Thompson highlighted the potential of the Texans having two high-level USC Trojan safeties. Here is what he had to say:

“It wouldn’t be a Houston Texans draft without a defensive back from USC landing in Nick Caserio’s lap.

In 2024, Pro Bowl safety Calen Bullock back off the board in the round. Last season. Jaylin Smith joined the crew as a late Day 2 pick.

Safety Kamari Ramsey to many was considered one of the draft’s top Day 2 safeties, so consider it a steal in the fifth-round for Houston.

At pick No. 141, the Texans landed Ramsey, who excelled over his final two years with the Trojans‘ defense. The 6-foot, 202-pound defensive back ran a 4.47 in the 40-yard dash at the NFL combine and can play both as a nickel corner and safety.

The Texans now have two safeties from USC. He can make plays, and he is the right type of football player to take on multiple roles. Demeco Ryans likes to move people around. I would not be surprised to see both Trojan safeties share the field multiple times within games next season. Both guys had successful tenures at USC, and now they will get a chance to shine together in Houston.
