🥎Game of the Day
East Providence 6, Pilgrim 5
Ava Silva broke up a tie game with a single in the fifth and Caroline Welch came up clutch with some insurance that was needed in the Townies 6-5 win over the Patriots.
East Providence got off to a terrific start with four runs in the first, but Pilgrim got two in the second after scoring once in the first to make it a one-run game. In the fifth, Abigail Bryson ripped a triple that brought in Lia Wasilewski with the tying run and the Patriots had momentum.
Marianna Pina took it back for the Townies, leading off the bottom of the fifth with a double. On third base with two outs, she came home on a single by Silva to give EP the 5-4 lead. In the bottom of the sixth, it was Welch’s turn to come up clutch with a two-out double that proved important.
Pilgrim rallied in the seventh, getting a Bryson sacrifice fly to make it 6-5. With runners on the corner and two outs, EP’s Cassie Dulude induced a ground ball to short to end the game.
Nethania Figueroa helped the Townies out in a big way, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs and one RBI. Pina had two hits and scored twice and Trinity Provencher drove in two while scoring one.
Bryson drove in two runs for Pilgrim and Wasilewskiwent 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI in the loss.

⚾BASEBALL – Division II
West Warwick 3, Ponaganset 1
Mason Hunt had it all working at the plate and on the mound and his performance helped the Wizards upend the Chieftains.
Hunt was 3-for-3 with a triple, an RBI and a run scored and he also pitched six innings, allowing only one run on five hits with six strikeouts to pick up the win. Antony Burt came on in relief of Hunt in the seventh inning and held Ponaganset scoreless to pick up the save.
West Warwick scored all three of its runs in the first inning against tough-luck loser Joe Clark, who hurled six innings allowing three runs on six hits with two Ks.
For Ponaganset, Anthony Mugida had two hits and drove in the only run in the loss.
Chariho 11, Central 10
Down 8-6 entering the bottom of the fifth inning, the Chargers exploded for five runs, the big hit coming of the bat of Everett Knerr, who singled to drive in two of those runs, and the Chargers took an 11-8 lead and held on to defeat the Knights.
Knerr banged out two hits in the game and had four RBI and teammates Rohan Downing and Leo Emery also had two hits in the game and both players scored tree time each.
Maycal Delosantos had one hit and scored three times for Central and Maikel Alcantara Gomez had a hit and two RBI in the loss..
Sean O’Leary allowed eight runs in the game (three earned) and while he wasn’t the starter, he picked up the win for the Chargers. Knerr pitched the first two innings, striking out two and allowing two runs, and Landon Sumner got the last out of the game on a groundball.
North Providence 8, Prout 1
Kris Pacific turned in a masterful mound performance on Tuesday, striking out 10 batters, walking one and allowing a single run (unearned) while scattering six hits in a complete-game victory.
And the Cougars offense did its part, staking him to a six-run lead after three innings. Josh Rodriguez was 2-for-2 with two RBIs, Carter Harris drove in a pair and scored once and JT Raftery was 2-for-4 with three runs scored. Anthony Roman and Mike Ryan also collected a pair of hits in the road win.
For the Crusaders, Max Richmond led the way with two hits and a run scored in the loss.
Burrillville 3, Toll Gate 0
Adam Decesare earned the shutout victory for the Broncos after giving up just one hit over seven innings. He struck out 14 batters and walked none.
The hitting star for Burrillville was Logan Gomez with two hits and a run. Tim Casserly, Dylan Kafalas and Colin Sharpe drove in one run each.
Aiden Bricker pitched six innings for the Titans and took the loss.
Middletown 11, St. Raphael 4
The Saints couldn’t keep Middletown’s GarrettWest off the bases, as the Islanders’ first baseman and No. 5 hitter was 3-for-3 with two RBIs and three runs scored in the win at Gaudet Middle School.
Teammates Colton Kerrison and Kenny Pirches also drove in two runs each, combining for four hits and a run scored.
On the bump, Cam Carlisle struck out five over four innings, with three runs allowed to earn the W, and Noah Travers pitched three relief innings, striking out four.
St. Raphael was led by C.J. Smith and Onaissis Soriano, who both collected two hits in the loss.
Narragansett 19, Rogers 7
The Mariners put up crooked numbers in each frame to take care of the Vikings under the lights at Cardines Field.
Max Downey doubled and tripled as part of his four-hit night, driving in three runs and scoring two. Drez Owens doubled twice and tripled while Colton Fredette collected three hits and four runs scored for Narragansett (11-4).
Colby Schreiber closed 3-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI while Kieran Moore, Jack Rosa and ChristopherRosa all put together multi-hit games for Rogers (5-10).
⚾BASEBALL – Division III
EWG 10, North Smithfield 1
Tyler Medeiros struck out nine over six innings, scattering three hits allowing one run (unearned) as the Scarlet Knights made quick work of the visiting Northmen.
JJ Langlais, who closed the game by striking out three batters in the final frame, collected a pair of hits and two RBIs, Medeiros was 2-for-4 with two runs scored and one RBI and Josh Larned drove in a pair in the Exeter-West Greenwich victory at Wawaloam Field,
EWG outhit the visitors 9-3, with all but two batters recording a hit.
For North Smithfield, Nick Tremblay led the way with a hit and run scored in the loss.
Classical 5, PCD 4
The Purple were cruising through six frames, keeping the Knights off the board and leading by three runs.
But the seventh inning brought a whole bunch of drama. PCD plated four runs in the top half of the inning to take the lead, with three runs scoring on errors and a Ryan Duclos single to take the lead.
In the bottom half, Silas McKay – who reached base on a walk, advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt, then to third on a fielder’s choice – scored the tying run on a passed ball to force extra innings.
McKay, who had taken over mound duties in the seventh, pitched a 1-2-3 eighth to keep the score tied. Then in the bottom half, Marlowe Warren‘s sac fly brought home OscarCharlesworth to pull out the victory.
Andrew Morales paced the Purple with two hits and two RBIs in four at-bats. Eli Ozbek pitched 6.2 innings for the Purple, giving up four runs but striking out 10 batters.
Maddux Fredericks pitched six innings for PCD and struck out 12. Tommy Migneault threw in relief and took the loss.
Woonsocket 18, Juanita Sanchez 0
Already leading by seven, the Novans exploded for 10 runs in the fifth inning to bring a swift end to this road contest.
Patrick Munger threw the first inning, and struck out a pair, before giving way to Braylon Guilbeault, who fanned eight through the final four frames. Neither pitcher allowed a hit, walk or run.
At the plate, the Woonsocket bats provided more than enough support, with 11 hits total. Jordan Plante was 2-for-3 with three RBIs and two runs scored, Max Garneau had a hit, run scored and three RBIs, and TyChhourn and Cesar Vazquez each drove in a pair.
Munger helped his own cause with a hit, three runs scored and an RBI, as did Guilbeault, who had a hit, drove in a run and scored.
Woonsocket improves to 16-0 in Division III, with three games left to play.

St. Raphael 17, Cumberland 3
Sophie Roman was a menace, leading a potent offensive attack that gave the Saints a 17-3 win over the Clippers.
Roman was seeing the ball well from the start, hitting a one-out double in the first inning and scoring the game’s first run on an error. St. Raphael scored three in the inning and after Cumberland matched the total, Roman’s RBI single got a six-run rally going. The Saints added seven in the third to bring the 12-run rule into play.
It was good day at the plate for Roman, who went 4-for-5 with three RBI and three runs. McKayla McDermott finished 2-for-3 with three RBI and scored once and Ella Taylor went 2-for-2 with three runs and one RBI. Izzy Sousa scored three runs while earning the win in the circle, allowing three hits, no earned runs and striking out six. Emma Martin scored twice, Piper McMurray scored twice and drove in two runs and McKenna Mare finished with two RBI.
Emma Cruise had one hit and one RBI in the loss for the Clippers.
Cranston West 1, Prout 0
Freshman Izzy Marcano came up with her second impressive performance in as many nights, throwing a one-hitter to lead the Falcons to a 1-0 win over the Crusaders.
On Monday Marcano outdueled St. Raphael All-Stater Izzy Sousa and on Tuesday, she dominated Prout from start to finish. After an error allowed the first runner of the game to reach base, Marcano retired six straight before allowing a single to start the third. It was the last hit she’d surrender and she finished the game with nine strikeouts.
While Marcano was dealing, so was Crusader starter Lily Sheehan. The game was scoreless through five when Nicole Silvestri led off with a single before taking second on a bunt. In stepped Emma Regine who hit a single to left that played Silvestri with the only run of the game.
Sheehan was brilliant in the tough-luck loss, throwing six innings of four-hit ball with one walk and five strikeouts.
Coventry 3, Smithfield 2
Kelsea Knutton started strong and Mary McGovern finished stronger as the Oakers’ pitchers carried the team to a 3-2 win.
Coventry scrapped up two runs in the third and one in the fourth and with Knutton dealing, the 3-0 lead looked like plenty. Knutton tired in the fifth and after giving up two runs, McGovern came in to shut the door on Smithfield, giving up one hit and striking out four in her two innings of work.
Knutton scored the first run of the game on an error and Leah Lapham drove in the second. Mackenzie Stevens had one RBI in the win. Knutton gave up eight hits and two runs in her five innings of work.
Sophia Parrillo finished 2-for-4 with one RBI and one run for Smithfield. Maddie Bose took a tough loss for the Sentinels, throwing six innings while allowing four hits with three walks and six strikeouts.
Chariho 12, Bay View 0
Maddie Dorgan led from the top as the Chargers offense did some serious damage in a 12-0 win over Bay View.
Dorgan led off the bottom of the first with a single and scored on an RBI single by Adriana Jeannenot and it was a sign of things to come. Up 1-0 after the first, Chariho plated five in the second and five in the third while Jeannenot threw an abbreviated no-hitter, walking one and striking out eight.
It was a big day for Dorgan, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI and two runs. On the bottom of the order, No. 9 hitter Alana Valuk drove in two and scored twice and No. 8 batter Makayla Smith scored three times. Anna Tretton scored two runs and Jeannenot finished with two RBI in the win.
Westerly 14, Moses Brown 2
Addison Poole got the offense going with a first inning home run and the hits kept coming in the Bulldogs’ 14-2 win over the Quakers.
The All-Stater showed off her prodigious power immediately, going yard on a two-run bomb that ignited a six-run first inning. Moses Brown scored two in the bottom half, but Westerly answered with three in the second and five in the third to bring the 12-run rule into play.
Poole had a day, going 2-for-3 with three runs and two RBI. Frankie Arnold went 2-for-3 with three runs and one RBI and Abiageal Emery also scored three runs and drove in one. Allison Maranda finished with three RBI and scored once and Madison Maguire also had three RBI in the win. Bella Mazzarese scored twice and drove in one run for Westerly.
Elodie Cannon had the big hit for Moses Brown with a two-run home run in the first inning.
🥎SOFTBALL – Division II
North Providence 14, Woonsocket 2
The Cougars took the lead back in the third inning, then put the game away in the fourth in a 14-2 win over the Villa Novans.
North Providence started strong with two run sin the first inning, but Woonsocket tied the game in the top of the third. Mariana Xavier broke the tie in a hurry, hitting a two-run home run that made it 4-2. The Cougars added two more runs – one on an RBI double by Madison Clayton – and then exploded for eight in the fourth to bring the 12-run rule into play.
Clayton had a day, going 3-for-3 with three RBI and two runs and falling a home run short of the cycle. Xavier had three RBI and two runs and Sydney Drew and Makenna Heon both scored twice in the win.
Willianeys Cruz went 2-for-2 and scored one run in the loss for Woonsocket.
Johnston 6, Portsmouth 4

🥎SOFTBALL – Division III
Cranston East 26, Hope 3
The Thunderbolts put on an offensive clinic, getting 13 runs in the second inning alone to make quick work of the Blue Wave in a 26-3 win.
Every Cranston East player scored at least one run and had at least one RBI and eight of the nine had at least one hit. Lexi Montalban had a monster, going 3-for-4 with four RBI and three runs. Aniah Parker and Angelina Saing both scored four times and Saing, Alyssa Diggert, Leanna Garcia and Alice Billings had three RBI apiece.

Evan Morrisette recorded a hat trick, Caleb Williams scored twice and added two assists and Logan Unkuri also had two tallies as the Bulldogs took out the Sentinels. Also finding contributing to the win ere Brayden Antioch with one goal and two assists, Ryan Waddington with a goal and 1 helper and Jacob Macera with one goals
Ryan Cavanaugh, Cameron Case and Parker King scored the goals for Smithfield in the loss.
Westerly pushed its record to 12-2 and sit atop of D-II while Smithfield falls to 4-12.
Prout 14, Chariho 2
Christos Stefanopoulos and Ethan Nestor each scored five times for the Crusaders, with Desmond Scoones and John Gaffney each scoring twice in the victory.
For the visiting Chargers, John Depot tallied three goals and Morgan Campbell had two in the loss.

Mt. Hope 13, Lincoln 8
The Huskies took a 7-5 lead at the half and pushed it to a five-point victory at Ferguson Field in Lincoln.
Nathan Carpenter and Brayden Vales each scored four goals, and Charlie Knapman and Aedan Nelson each scored twice for Mt. Hope. In net, Ethan LaBollita made 10 saves and Rocco Fratterelli had one.
For Lincoln, Logan Syznal led the way with four goals and an assist and Daniel London had three goals in the loss. Lions goalie Keiran Fox made seven saves.

Pilar Murphy scored four goals and Lizzie Hill and Maddie Bogdon added three more each as Prout improved its record to 7-6 with a victory over Portsmouth.
Also figuring in the win were Miley Keramidas and Lucianna Marchionne who each scored a goal.
For the Patriots, Now 1-14, Sophia Sebolt had a hattrick, Emma Norton scored two goals and Adison Lima added another score in the loss.

Westerly 20, Lincoln 5
Ella Seltzer headed the Westerly (D-II) scoring parade scoring five goals in the win over Lincoln (D-IV).
Joining Selzer on the Bulldogs’ score sheet were Phoebe Brennan and Casey Macera who had four goals and one assist each and Gianna Falcone, who scored three goals and added two helpers. Four other girls − Sienna Fizzano, Macy Antoch, Sienna Mathieu and Hazel Gervasini scored one goals each.
Lincoln’s Annie Lenihan, Maggie McDonald, Ariana Casey and Minna Naddak each had a goal in the loss.
🥍GIRLS LACROSSE – Division III
Smithfield 17, Cranston East 1
With Lexi Johnson-McMahon and Annabelle Lally leading the way, the Sentinels rolled to victory over the Thunderbolts.
Johnson-McMahon scored three goals and assisted on four other tallies and Lally also scored a hattrick and added three helpers. Chloe Albert also got on the score sheet with two goals and nine other team members found the back of the net once in the win.
Macy Barron had the lone goal for Cranston East.
The Sentinels remain undefeated at 12-0 and the Thunderbolts have yet to win a game are 0-12.

Alyssa Karalekas recorded four goals, Sydney Olson scored twice and Penelope Flynn and Nadiyah Calouro-Vargas scored a goal apiece as the Townies slipped past the Chieftains.
Goalie Wendy Monteiro-Cabral collected 10 saves for EP in the win.
For Ponaganset in the loss, Lana Hess matched Karalekas’s game-high total with four goals and Katelyn Damiano and Jillian Dixon each had a goal.
