The 2026 Diamond League gets underway a week later than planned with an intriguing group of athletes descending on Shanghai.
The campaign had been due to begin in Qatar, but the event in Doha has been delayed until June due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.
It is a fascinating field assembled in the women’s 200m particularly, with Shericka Jackson, Sha’Carri Richardson, Shaunae Miller-Uibo and British sprinting star Amy Hunt all vying for victory.
World record holders Mondo Duplantis and Karsten Warholm headline the men’s events, with the Norwegian taking on a different distance in the 300m hurdles.

The Shanghai Diamond League will be held at the Shaoxing China Textile City Sports Center on Saturday 16 May.
