NEW YORK – In Sunday’s Subway Series finale – Citi Field edition – the Yankees turn to a rookie right-hander to try and avoid a third straight series loss of any kind.
Elmer Rodriguez (0-1, 5.19 ERA) hasn’t completed five innings in each of his first two MLB starts, and he’ll be opposing the Mets’ Freddy Peralta (3-3, 3.10 ERA) in a 1:40 p.m. start.
Matchup-wise, the Yanks’ Cody Bellinger has a 1.181 OPS versus Peralta in 14 career regular season at-bats, including one home run, but Ryan McMahon is 1-for-12 (.083) against the right-hander.
Here is the Yankees’ lineup:
- Trent Grisham, CF

- Aaron Judge, DH
- Cody Bellinger, LF
- Jazz Chisholm Jr., 2B
- Ryan McMahon, 3B
- Spencer Jones, RF
