Now that we know what the Jacksonville Jaguars’ 2026 NFL schedule looks like, let’s highlight some of the important games this season.
Based on their opponents’ projected win totals, the Jaguars strength of schedule ranks 15th in the NFL. This includes playing six playoff teams from the 2025 season.
But going beyond who the Jaguars play, how the schedule shakes out can impact the difficulty of it as well. Some other elements to be on the lookout for when it comes to the schedule include any extended home or road stretches, any cross-country trips that are close together, any stretches of games against top-tier opponents, and when the bye week is.
Let’s take a closer look at some key matchups with our schedule superlatives.
Must win game: vs. Houston in Week 6 (London)
The AFC South race came down to the wire in 2026. The Jaguars needed every win down the stretch to stay ahead of Houston. This year, the Jaguars’ home game against the Texans will be played in London, taking away the advantage of being at EverBank Stadium. With the second matchup between these two taking place in Houston, an early-season loss for the Jaguars could leave them playing catch-up.
Most difficult stretch: Weeks 2 through 6
It’s a difficult start to the year for the Jaguars. This includes playing Denver, New England, Philadelphia, and Houston — four playoff teams from last season. Also, only one game — against Cincinnati — will be played at EverBank Stadium.
Stretch of games Jaguars must capitalize on: Weeks 8-12
Outside of facing the Ravens in Week 9, the Jaguars play Indianapolis at home, Tennessee twice, and the New York Giants. Banking some AFC South wins will be valuable, but also, stacking some wins against non-playoff teams from last season feels like a must.
Most intriguing game: Weeks 2 vs. Broncos and Week 3 vs. Patriots
I couldn’t pick just one, so I went with two games. Right out of the gates, the Jaguars will have two measuring stick games against the AFC’s top teams from last season. How these matchups unfold could set the tone for the upcoming year.
Better be careful: On the road to end the season
During what is often crunch-time on the NFL schedule, the Jaguars are often going to be on the road. Three of their final four games will be away from Jacksonville, while seven games from Weeks 8 through 18 will be on the road as well.
