Georgia football trying to flip elite Penn State WR commit

The Georgia Bulldogs are pushing for another highly-rated Penn State Nittany Lions recruit. They offered three-star wide receiver Jamir Dean, according to Rivals. Dean committed to the Nittany Lions on May 1.

Dean is a three-star WR from the class of 2027. The 6-foot-2, 180-pound pass-catcher plays high school football at Alcoa High School in Alcoa, Tennessee. He is ranked as the No. 51 WR in the nation.

Dean is a multi-sport athlete. He plays football and basketball, along with participating in track and field. He placed No. 7 at the Tennessee AA decathlon state meet as a sophomore, and in basketball, he crossed 1,000 career points midway through his junior season.

Georgia needs more depth in their class of 2027 after three-star WR Aden Starling decommitted from the Bulldogs on Wednesday. They have just seven commits in their class, which is ranked No. 22 in the nation.

Dean could get influence from five-star RB Kemon Spell. Spell decommitted from Penn State after the firing of James Franklin, and he joined the Bulldogs on Feb. 2, 2026. Hopefully for Georgia, Dean does the same.
