A Michigan State football recent commitment has received some high praise from a national recruiting analyst.
Tom Lemming of CBS Sports is high on Michigan State commitment Ohimai Ozolua of Chicago. Lemming recently spoke with Ozolua and considered him a player with five-star and future first round NFL Draft pick potential.

Ohimai Ozolua 6‘6“ 250 Chicago Saint Rita HS, IL already looks like an NFL DE. Long arms, violent and quick hands to go with a great first step. No doubt he has. 5* potential. Just might be the most underrated player in the Midwest.@ohimai21 1st rd potential. Ability is there. pic.twitter.com/19FOr1qZfN

Ozolua is currently listed as a four-star prospect with a recruiting rating of 89 in 247Sports’ system. He ranks as the No. 48 defensive lineman and No. 414 overall prospect in the 2027 class.
Michigan State picked up a verbal commitment from Ozolua over the likes of Illinois, Iowa, Miami (FL), Michigan, Missouri, Ohio State, Nebraska, Penn State, Tennessee and Vanderbilt. He committed to the Spartans last month and is arguably their top current prospect in the class.
It’s great to see Lemming give such high praise to Ozolua but it also makes me worry about some of those big-time programs continuing to pursue him on the recruiting trail. Michigan State is going to certainly need to keep actively recruiting Ozolua in order to retain this notable commitment.
