FSU softball pitcher Mimi Gooden is entering the transfer portal. She announced the news Monday night on social media.
Gooden did not play in 2026, receiving a redshirt after playing in each of her first two seasons with the Seminoles. The Milton, Florida, product will have two seasons of eligibility at her next school. She is the second FSU player to enter the portal, joining outfielder Addie DeLong, who also entered on Monday.
Gooden played in 35 games for the Seminoles, finishing with a 4.39 ERA in 67.0 innings pitched. Opponents hit .291 off her and drew 22 walks to 33 strikeouts.
She saw the most action of her career as a freshman in 2024, making 25 appearances and starting 11 games. She finished the year with a 5-2 record and a 4.38 ERA over 54.1 innings. She was unable to take the next step as a sophomore, recording a 4.42 ERA over 12.2 innings in 10 outings as she was surpassed on the depth chart.
Gooden is the second pitcher that FSU has lost from its 2026 team, with Makenna Reid out of eligibility. They are expected to retain their top three pitchers in Jazzy Francik, Ashtyn, Danley, and Bella Dimitrijevic.
