There were several top performers across the state in boys high school sports, but only one can be voted as the Clarion Ledger athlete of the week for May 18-23.
Fans may vote in the poll BELOW one time per hour per device. The poll closes at noon on Friday.

Trey Barnes, Petal: Barnes had four hits with a home run, four runs scored and two RBIs in Petal’s 2-0 sweep against Oxford to win the MHSAA 7A title.
Will Goodson, Saltillo: Goodson pitched 6⅔ innings for a combined no-hitter with five strikeouts to help Saltillo’s 2-1 series win against Pearl River Central to win the MHSAA 6A title.
Holder McAlpin, Mize: McAplin threw a complete game no-hitter with nine strikeouts to help Mize’s 2-0 series sweep against East Webster to win the MHSAA 2A title.
Cooper McCoy, Sumrall: McCoy pitched seven innings with seven strikeouts, three hits and no runs, to help Sumrall’s 2-0 series sweep against Pontotoc to win the MHSAA 5A title.
Jon Grey Morrisson, West Union: Morrisson pitched a complete game with no earned runs and 10 strikeouts and had a home run with six RBIs to help West Union’s 2-1 series win against Taylorsville to win the MHSAA 1A title.
