Austin Hill is set to return to NASCAR Cup Series action this weekend after Richard Childress Racing confirmed he will again drive the No. 33 Chevrolet at the Cracker Barrel 400 in Nashville.
The RCR driver is scheduled for another Cup appearance following his run in the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway, where he finished 27th in NASCAR’s longest race.
Hill will once again pilot the organization’s No. 33 entry as he continues building experience at the Cup level alongside his full-time NASCAR O’Reilly Series campaign.
Austin Hill returns for another NASCAR Cup Series start
Hill’s appearance at Nashville will mark the 19th Cup Series start of his career and his second consecutive weekend competing in NASCAR’s premier division.
The 31-year-old has never previously raced in a Cup event at Nashville Superspeedway, adding another new challenge to his growing Cup resume.
Richard Childress Racing entered Hill in the No. 33 Chevrolet during last weekend’s Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte, where he completed the race one lap down in 27th position.
Despite limited Cup opportunities, Hill already owns a top ten finish at NASCAR’s highest level after securing ninth place at last summer’s Chicago Street Course event.
His Nashville record in lower divisions also offers encouragement ahead of Sunday’s race weekend.
Richard Childress Racing gives Hill another Cup opportunity
Hill has previously shown strong pace at Nashville in NASCAR’s national series, including a best finish of fourth in the O’Reilly Series. He has also recorded a ninth-place finish at the track in the Truck Series.
The Nashville Cup field is expected to feature 38 entries this weekend, including open cars entered by Garage 66 and 23XI Racing.
Chad Finchum is listed in the No. 66 Garage 66 Ford, while Corey Heim is set to drive the No. 67 Toyota for 23XI Racing.
For Hill, the weekend presents another valuable opportunity to gain Cup experience with Richard Childress Racing as he continues balancing starts across multiple NASCAR divisions.
