Bayern Munich CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen was in attendance for the Champions League final between Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal FC in Budapest and watched PSG walk away with its second consecutive UCL title after winning on penalty kicks.
Afterward, Dreesen wanted to offer some praise toward PSG for a tremendous season.
“Congratulations to Paris Saint-Germain. They defended their title and thus achieved an extraordinary feat. I’m delighted for Nasser Al-Khelaifi, who had to wait a long time and has now been able to lift the Champions League trophy twice in a row. For us at FC Bayern, the goal is to be fully competitive again in the Champions League next year,” Dreesen told Bild’s Michel Schröer (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
Bayern Munich will likely need a few tweaks to the roster to make a run at the UCL crown next season. There is already a very strong base, but more depth could be a massive boost for the Bavarians.
