Here are this week’s winners.
Ohio big-school baseball team: Hamilton – The Big Blue closed the week with three straight wins, beating Sycamore, Colerain and Turpin.
Ohio small-school baseball team: Batavia – Batavia is on a six-game winning streak following a sweep of Western Brown and a 1-0 win over Roger Bacon.
Northern Kentucky/Indiana baseball team: Lloyd Memorial – The Juggernauts had a four-win week, starting with a 15-0 shutout of Williamstown.
Ohio big-school softball team: Hamilton – Hamilton started the week with four consecutive wins, edging out Fairfield and cruising past Princeton, Mason and Colerain.
Ohio small-school softball team:Georgetown – Georgetown went 4-0 last week, sweeping Felicity-Franklin, beating Blanchester and shutting out Whiteoak.
Northern Kentucky/Indiana softball team: Villa Madonna – Villa Madonna secured three wins last week, beating Bellevue, Ludlow and Dayton.
Boys spring team: Bellevue track – Bellevue took first at the Northern Kentucky Athletic Conference Division III meet, scoring 107 total points.
Girls spring team: Wyoming lacrosse – Wyoming improved to 14-3 after beating Seven Hills 18-10 and Indian Hill 14-10.
Ohio big-school baseball: Corwin Wang, Sycamore – The sophomore pitched a three-hit shutout in a 1-0 win over Fairfield.
Ohio small-school baseball: Levi Guttman, Cincinnati Country Day – In a win over Purcell Marian, the junior hit for the cycle, also scoring four runs and stealing a base.
Northern Kentucky/Indiana big-school baseball: Ian Wallace, Scott – The junior pitched five shutout innings in a 10-0 win over Mason County, allowing four hits and striking out 11.
Northern Kentucky/Indiana small-school baseball: Wyatt Lewis, Bellevue – The sophomore pitched a three-hit shutout in a 3-0 win over Calvary Christian, striking out seven.
Bass fishing: Cooper Lackey and Paxton Litmer, Bishop Brossart – They finished 48th in the Kentucky High School Athletic Association state tournament, catching three fish totaling 7 pounds, 4 ounces.
Flag football: Lea Johnson, Mount Notre Dame – The junior recorded eight tackles with six sacks as Mount Notre Dame held off Mercy McAuley, 21-12, to advance to the regional championships.
Ohio boys lacrosse: Chase Davis, Anderson – The senior contributed 11 total points last week as the Raptors took home wins over Wyoming and Little Miami.
Northern Kentucky/Indiana boys lacrosse: Michael Abdon, Walton-Verona – The junior had four goals and three assists in an 11-6 win over Cooper, then tallied two goals and an assist in a loss to Dixie Heights.
Ohio girls lacrosse: Natalie Klaber, Mount Notre Dame – The sophomore scored eight goals in a 19-4 win over Fairfield and added four goals and an assist in an overtime loss to Anderson.
Northern Kentucky/Indiana girls lacrosse:Emily Forbes, Cooper – The junior had five goals and two assists to beat Ryle in the Fifth District championship. She also had five goals in an earlier 11-3 win over St. Henry.
Ohio big-school softball:Madi Jackson, Mount Notre Dame – The freshman struck out eight batters while allowing five hits and two runs, and hit a triple and scored a run as the Cougars beat Ursuline to claim the Girls Greater Catholic League title.
Ohio small-school softball: Jadyn Harp, Monroe – The freshman had a double, a home run and two RBIs, scoring two runs, in a win over Chaminade Julienne, then hit a two-run homer in a win over Bellbrook.
Northern Kentucky/Indiana softball: Anna Bezold, Bishop Brossart – She earned four wins in the circle, accumulating 12 strikeouts while allowing 22 hits and five earned runs in 25 innings.
Boys singles tennis: Donovan Harrington, Conner – He opened the Ninth Region tournament with 6-0, 6-0 wins over Boone County and Dixie Heights to get to the quarterfinals.
Boys doubles tennis team: Ben Jensen/Jake Perkins, Bethel-Tate – In the Southern Buckeye Athletic and Academic Conference National tournament, they won at second doubles, taking the final with a 6-1, 6-1 decision.
Northern Kentucky girls singles tennis: Natalie Elleman, Conner – In the Ninth Region, the Conner senior won 6-0, 6-1 against Newport Central Catholic, 6-3, 6-3 against Villa Madonna, and 7-6 (7-5), 6-3 over Notre Dame Academy to get to the tournament finals.
Northern Kentucky girls doubles tennis:Avery Love/Niveditha Selvaraju, Ryle – In the KHSAA Ninth Region tournament, they got to the finals with a 6-0, 6-1 win against Beechwood, a 6-1, 6-0 win over Newport Central Catholic and a 6-2, 6-1 win over Conner in the semis.
Ohio boys track and field: Khaylen Cotton, Northwest – He won the high jump at the Best of the West with a personal best of 6 feet, 8 inches.
Northern Kentucky/Indiana boys track and field: Adam Tarvin, Bishop Brossart – He won the 800-meter run at the Mustangs’ home quad meet in a new personal best of 1:59.85, then took fourth place in the 1,600-meter run at the Villa for Life meet in a new personal best of 4:50.02.
Ohio girls track and field: Samantha Long, Fenwick – She won the 300-meter hurdles at Lebanon in a personal best of 46.13 seconds, which is one of the top times in the state in Division IV.
Northern Kentucky/Indiana girls track and field: Anna Curtsinger, Bishop Brossart – She won the pole vault at a quad meet at Bishop Brossart with a height of 9 feet, 9 inches, then cleared the 10-foot bar to win at the Villa for Life meet.
Ohio boys volleyball: Holden Kraus, Sycamore – The freshman setter had 43 assists to help beat Milford in four sets on May 4.
Northern Kentucky/Indiana boys volleyball: Nicholas Nartker, Simon Kenton – Nartker led Simon Kenton in its first Sixth Region tournament, helping the Pioneers to a 3-1 win over North Oldham to reach the semifinals.
