Will Auburn football stay hot and land four-star LB Isaac McNeil?

The Auburn Tigers have been on a recruiting tear lately by adding three commitments to their 2027 class since Sunday. Will the Tigers’ heater continue by adding a fourth in such a short span?

Four-star linebacker Isaac McNeil is set to announce his commitment on Tuesday. Where does Auburn stand? Heading into Tuesday’s decision, there is no clear favorite as Florida, LSU, Alabama, and Georgia join Auburn as the final schools in pursuit of Alabama’s No. 2 prospect. However, one outlet has a sense of who could win the race.

The Vigor High School product only has one prediction from Rivals, and it favors the Auburn Tigers. Rivals’ recruiting expert Steve Wiltfong logged a prediction in February favoring McNeil would commit to Auburn, which gives the Tigers an 86% chance to emerge as the winning program on Tuesday. Recency bias could also aid Auburn, as the Tigers hosted McNeil for an official visit last weekend. The successful weekend has resulted in the commitments of cornerback Nash Johnson, kicker Noah Ash, and running back Kingston Miles, and Auburn hopes to add its fourth in McNeil.

Auburn football holds the nation’s No. 19 class from the 2027 recruiting cycle, according to Rivals, and the No. 26 class, according to 247Sports, before McNeil’s decision. McNeill, the No. 6 linebacker from the 2027 recruiting cycle, would certainly push Auburn into the top 25 of 247Sports’ rankings and could give the Tigers a boost in SEC competition in Rivals’ rankings with a commitment on Tuesday. If McNeil commits to Auburn on Tuesday, he would join three-star linebacker Kareem Palmer in Auburn’s 2027 haul.
