Kenan Yildiz has opened up on the defining decision of his young career, choosing Juventus over Bayern Munich in 2022, revealing that it was the club’s genuine belief in his potential that ultimately proved the decisive factor.
Speaking to GQ, via TuttoMercatoWeb, the Turkey international and Serie A Rising Star award winner was candid about what drew him to Turin at a time when remaining at one of Europe’s most successful clubs might have seemed the safer option.
“When I chose Juventus it was not only a professional decision,” Yildiz said.
“It was also a question of trust. I felt that this team would give me a strong vision. The club really saw me, believed in my potential and offered me a path to grow step by step. For a young footballer, one of the most important things is that people believe in you not only when you play well, but throughout your entire journey of growth. Juventus gave me that feeling from the first day.”

Yildiz determined to leave authentic mark at Juventus and with Turkey national team
The Turkish sensation, who wore the number 10 shirt this season, also addressed how he hopes to be remembered when his career is eventually looked back upon, and his answer reflects a maturity well beyond his years.
“I would like to be remembered as a player who gave everything, both on and off the pitch,” he said.
“In football, goals, victories and trophies are obviously very important. But for me it is equally precious how you live that journey. Respect, work discipline, family and staying grounded. My greatest desire is to build my own story. I do not want to be just someone compared to others, I want to leave an authentic mark at Juventus, with the Turkish national team and for all those who believe in me.”
