Bayern Munich midfielder Aleksandar Pavlović has come a long way since breaking into the senior team from the youth ranks in 2023/24. But that does not mean a jersey number change is in the offing, even with the departure of Leon Goretzka and the upcoming vacancy of the #8 jersey.
Pavlović confirmed he would keep his #45 in an Instagram post, as captured by @iMiaSanMia:
Unser Trikot – meine Nummer! 45 – auch in der neuen Saison!
(“Our jersey — my number! 45 — in the new season, too!”)
Pavlović would be far from the first starter to wear a higher kit number — Thomas Müller wore the #25 and Philipp Lahm the #21. In recent years, Jamal Musiala donned the #42, only swapping it this season after Leroy Sané’s departure…only to see it brought back to the senior team right away in the form of Lennart Karl.
Will there be another breakout #45 from the Bayern academy? If so, Pavlović is not ready to give it up just yet…and he may just make it iconic enough to wear it for his entire Bayern career.
