Kvaratskhelia rose to global prominence in 2022 following his €13.3 million move from Georgian side Dinamo Batumi to Napoli.

He quickly formed a lethal partnership with Osimhen, spearheading the club’s charge to its first Serie A title in nearly 40 years.

His stellar performances eventually earned him an €80 million move to PSG in January 2025. Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis later revealed he had rejected a staggering €180 million joint bid from Les Parisiens for both Kvaratskhelia and Osimhen just six months prior.

So far, Kvaratskhelia’s move to the French capital has been a resounding success. Last season, his brilliance on the left flank was instrumental in PSG’s Champions League triumph.

He has maintained that form this season, contributing 17 goals and nine assists in 39 appearances. Most recently, he netted a brace in PSG’s thrilling 5-4 victory over Bayern Munich in the first leg of their Champions League semifinal.

In a recent interview, Osimhen opened up about his close bond with the Georgian international. He highlighted the 25-year-old’s character and technical quality, insisting that the winger has the potential to be crowned the best player in the world.

<blockquote class=”wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow”>

”Kvara is one of the best players I’ve played with. He’s such an amazing player and a top guy,” Osimhen told Onah Kosisochukwu.

<blockquote class=”wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow”>

“I mean, he’s dressing room friendly… on the pitch and off the pitch, he’s just that guy.

<blockquote class=”wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow”>

”He’s an amazing person. Even when he first arrived in Naples, I used to say ‘Inshallah,’ in the near future, he can win the Ballon d’Or. He really can do that.

<blockquote class=”wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow”>

“Even since he moved to Paris, we’ve stayed in contact. We reach out to each other, and I always congratulate him on his accomplishments, and vice versa.

<blockquote class=”wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow”>

”He is one of the best wingers in the world right now—I don’t think anyone would argue with that. I wish him the very best.”

While both players are on track to secure domestic league titles this season, Kvaratskhelia has the chance to go a step further by defending the Champions League trophy.

However, with Ousmane Dembele often regarded as the poster boy for Les Parisiens, Kvaratskhelia may face stiff internal competition for the top individual honors.
