BOYS TENNIS
Fox Valley Association Championship
Neenah won the conference tournament with 55 points to edge second-place Kimberly and third-place Appleton North, which finished with 49 and 48 points, respectively.
The Rockets have won outright or shared the FVA title every season since 2000. Oshkosh West was the last team besides Neenah to win the title, with the Wildcats winning in 1999. Oshkosh North shared the title with Neenah in 2002 and 2004.
Neenah had first-place finishes in the conference tournament from Mercer Moss at No. 3 singles and Nicholas Zenzick at No. 4 singles.
Colin Meixl of Kimberly was the No. 1 singles champion, while Cale Vogel of Appleton West won No. 2 singles.
Reid Potter and Gavin Steiner of Oshkosh West took first at No. 1 doubles. Eric Graf and Jack Mendolla of Appleton North took first at No. 2 doubles, and Drew Franzene and Stephen Weed of Appleton North took first at No. 3 doubles.

BASEBALL
Kimberly 6, Kaukauna 1
KIMBERLY – The Papermakers scored five runs in the third inning in the Fox Valley Association win over the Ghosts to clinch the conference title.
Kimberly improves to 15-1 in the FVA and 18-2 overall. The Ghosts fall to 12-4 in the FVA and 16-6 overall.
Maddux Hermus had two hits, including a double and a home run, and drove in three runs for Kimberly. Brady Merzlicker had a double and an RBI, and Ryan Halfmann had a hit and an RBI.
Bryce Mischler pitched six shutout innings to get the win. He allowed three hits, walked three and struck out five. Beckett Hermus pitched one inning, allowed a hit and a run and struck out two.
Bron Schaefer had two hits, including a double, and drove in a run for Kaukauna.
Schaefer pitched five innings for the Ghosts. He allowed seven hits, six runs (four earned) and struck out five.
Appleton North 7, Appleton East 1
APPLETON – The Lightning scored three runs in the first inning and four in the seventh inning in their Fox Valley Association win over the Patriots.
Brennan Otto had two hits and two RBIs for Appleton North. Nathan Ramus and Jackson Skorr both had two RBIs. Ramus also had a home run, while Owen Reuland had a double.
Colin Reddy pitched four innings of one-hit ball and got the win for Appleton North. Matthew Hietpas pitched the other three innings, allowed one run on three hits and a walk.
Fond du Lac 7, Neenah 0
NEENAH – Noah Ditter limited the Rockets to three hits in leading the Cardinals to the Fox Valley Association win over Neenah.
Ditter pitched a complete game for Fond du Lac, walking none and striking out six.
Fond du Lac, which led 2-0 through four innings, added three runs in the fifth and two in the sixth.
Keyton Kilian had three hits, including a double, and scored three runs for Fond du Lac. Hudson Burg had two hits. Gavin Suprenand and Jack Brenner both drove in two runs.
Cal Juckem started and took the loss for Neenah. He pitched five innings, allowed seven hits, five runs (one earned), walked one and struck out eight.
Landen Sheppard, Henry St. Clair and Owen Pire had hits for Neenah.
Oshkosh North 8, Appleton West 6
OSHKOSH – The Spartans scored four runs in the second and fourth innings and then withstood a three-run sixth-inning rally by the Terrors to get the Fox Valley Association win.
William Malnar had a double for Appleton West and drove in two runs.
Henry Ott took the loss for the Terrors.
Oshkosh West 4, Hortonville 1
HORTONVILLE – The Wildcats snapped a 1-1 tie in the fifth inning by scoring two runs in their Fox Valley Association win over the Polar Bears.
Hortonville had two hits in the game, a pair of singles by Gary Wuest.
Elijah Yeager started and took the loss for Hortonville.
Fox Valley Lutheran 4, Winneconne 2
APPLETON – The Foxes scored a run in the first inning, two in the fourth and one in the sixth in their win over the Wolves despite having just four hits in the game.
Winneconne scored its runs in the sixth inning.
Lucky Pahl and Dallas Walker both had two hits for Winneconne. Noah Bouras had a double.
Pahl took the loss for Winneconne, giving up three runs on six walks and three hits over four innings.
Seymour 12, Green Bay East/West 2
GREEN BAY – The Thunder used eight hits, eight walks and eight Red Devils errors to score their runs in the Bay Conference win.
Nolan Beilfuss had two hits for Seymour. Carson Staffeldt had a triple and two RBIs.
Scott Sassman, Cayden Staffeldt and Jordan Thompson combined to hold Green Bay East to two hits.
Grant Shaurette took the loss for Green Bay East.
New London 12, Menasha 6
MENASHA – The Bulldogs overcame a 6-3 deficit after four innings by scoring three runs in the fifth, four in the sixth and two in the seventh of their win over the Bluejays.
Freedom 15, Clintonville 0
FREEDOM – Grant Millan pitched 4⅓ innings of one-hit ball in leading the Irish to the five-inning North Eastern Conference win over the Truckers.
Millan walked one and struck out eight for Freedom, which broke open the game with a nine-run second inning.
Eli Shepard and Chase Calmes both had two hits for Freedom. Ryan Heran had three RBIs. Quinn Brennenstuhl, Calmes, Kohen Daul and Leo VerVoort each drove in two runs.
Rogan Schertz had the only hit in the game for Clintonville.
Luxemburg-Casco 7, Waupaca 1
LUXEMBURG – The Spartans took a 4-0 lead after two innings in their North Eastern Conference win over the Comets.
Noah Chervenka had two doubles for Luxemburg-Casco. Gavin Lax had two hits, including a double. Ethan Werner and Jacob Coisman also had two hits. Ethan Dachelet hit a triple.
Lax got the win for Luxemburg-Casco, pitching six innings and allowing one run on five hits and one walk while striking out eight. Eli Derenne pitched the seventh inning.
Max Dolski had two hits for Waupaca.
Little Chute 4, Denmark 1
LITTLE CHUTE – The Vikings scored one run in the third inning and then the Mustangs answered with four runs in their half of the inning en route to the win.
Little Chute held Denmark to two hits in the game, singles by Cade Delarwelle and Noah Thompson.
Jack Freitag started and took the loss for Denmark.
Wrightstown 3, Algoma 2
WRIGHTSTOWN – The Tigers took a 2-0 lead in the second inning and added a run in the sixth inning for a 3-1 lead in the nonconference win over the Wolves.
Michael Besel had two hits and an RBI for Wrightstown. Jacob Ver Haagh and Jake Buenning both had doubles and both drove in a run.
Jacob Massey and Jonah Dahms both had three hits for Algoma. One of Dahms’ hits was a triple.
Jacob Miller pitched six innings for Wrightstown and got the win. He allowed one run on nine hits and one walk while striking out four.
Charlie Prokash pitched a complete game for Algoma and took the loss. He allowed three runs (two earned) on five hits and three walks. He struck out seven.
St. Mary Catholic 5, Manitowoc Lutheran 0
FOX CROSSING – The Zephyrs scored four runs in the fifth inning in their win over the Lancers.
Jacob Ernsting had two hits and drove in two runs for St. Mary Catholic. Caleb Vogel had two hits, including a triple. Luke Fairweather had two hits, while Mason Wagner had a double.
Ernsting started and went six innings for St. Mary Catholic to get the win. He gave up four hits, walked two and struck out four. Ben Kuffel pitched a 1-2-3 seventh inning.
Drew Staudt took the loss for Manitowoc Lutheran.
Chilton 10, Roncalli 0
MANITOWOC – The Tigers built a 4-0 lead through three innings and then finished off the game with a six-run sixth inning in the win over the Jets.
Ryan Schmitz, who threw a two-hit shutout for Chilton while striking out eight, also drove in three runs at the plate.
Ethan Schneider also drove in three runs for Chilton and had a double.
Hayden Dewane took the loss for Roncalli.
Hilbert 7, Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah 6
ELKHART LAKE – The Wolves scored five runs in the first two innings but didn’t plate the winning run until the seventh after the Resorters had tied the game 6-6.
Max Schneider had three hits, including two doubles, with four RBIs to lead Hilbert. Drew Halbach and Aaron Halbach both had three hits. Parker Anderson had two hits.
Anderson pitched the final two innings for Hilbert, allowing one hit and one walk to get the win.
Kiel 8, Brillion 6
KIEL – The Raiders built an 8-2 lead before the Lions rallied for four runs in the seventh inning to make it close in the Eastern Wisconsin Conference matchup.
Hayden Cousin, Chase Braun and Aiden Reinke each had two hits for Brillion. Reinke, McCormick Zutz and Kelvin Gilbertson each had doubles for Brillion. Gilbertson also drove in two runs.
Chase Braun gave up four runs in 1⅓ innings and took the loss for Brillion.
Wittenberg-Birnamwood 10, Weyauwega-Fremont 0
WEYAUWEGA – The Chargers’ Zandyr Barke and Oliver Fraaza combined to hold the Warhawks to two hits to lead Wittenberg-Birnamwood to the win.
Barke allowed one hit and three walks while striking out seven to get the win for Wittenberg-Birnamwood. Fraaza allowed one hit and one walk while striking out three over two innings.
Fraaza had four hits for Wittenberg-Birnamwood. Connor Meverden had three hits and two RBIs. Barke had three hits. Eddie Nowinsky had two hits and three RBIs.
Shiocton 18, Menominee Nation 4
SHIOCTON – The Chiefs, who had 11 hits, scored five runs in the first inning and nine in the second in their win over the Eagles.
Shiocton also took advantage of nine walks and four errors by Menominee Nation.
CJ Pyawasay had two hits, including a double, and two RBIs for Menominee Nation.
SOFTBALL
Kimberly 8, Kaukauna 6
KIMBERLY – The Papermakers scored four runs in the second inning, then added three runs in the fifth inning to take an 8-3 lead before holding off the Ghosts in a Fox Valley Association matchup.
Sophie Hermus had three hits, including a home run and a double, and drove in two runs for Kimberly. Payton Schreiber and Paige Schreck both had two hits and two RBIs. Chloe Biese also had two hits, and Schreiber and Biese each hit a double.
Kendra Ruys pitched a complete game for the win. She allowed seven hits, six runs (one earned) and struck out one.
Natalie Luckow had a home run and two RBIs for Kaukauna. Brianna Geiser had two hits, including a double, and drove in two runs. Lilly Hubers also had two hits and Lily Boyle had a double.
Hortonville 5, Oshkosh West 2
HORTONVILLE – Grace Danoski shut down the Wildcats from the circle, allowing seven hits, two unearned runs and one walk while striking out four in the complete game in the Polar Bears’ Fox Valley Association win over the Wildcats.
Ivy Schroeder and Eileen Gassner both had two hits and an RBI for the Hortonville. Schroeder had two doubles and Gassner had one double.
Hortonville scored two runs in the first, one in the fourth and two in the sixth.
Oshkosh West scored its two runs in the top of the seventh.
Kylie Hielsberg had three hits to lead the Wildcats.
Manitowoc Lincoln 8, Appleton West 0
APPLETON – Taylor Peterson was 2-for-3 with a homer and three RBIs as the Ships blanked the Terrors in nonconference action.
Sam Raymaker earned the win in the circle, pitching seven innings, allowing three hits and two walks while striking out 10. Also powering Manitowoc was Hayden Erdmann, who was 2-for-3 with an RBI.
Ali Raddatz led Appleton West with two hits.
The Ships scored three runs in the third inning, three in the fourth and two in the sixth.
Seymour 6, Bonduel 0
BONDUEL – The Thunder scored two runs in the third and one in the fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh innings to cruise to the nonconference win.
Kendra Rettler picked up the win in the circle, pitching seven innings, allowing three hits and one walk while striking out eight.
Adde Smith homered twice, while Aryah Krahn was 2-for-3 with a homer and Rettler drove in two runs.
De Pere 18, Menasha 2
MENASHA – The Redbirds used the big inning to cruise past the Bluejays in nonconference action.
De Pere scored five runs in the first inning, four in the second and nine in the fourth.
Menasha scored its two runs in the bottom of the first.
Allie Frederiksen was 3-for-3 with a homer and six RBIs, while Jaelyn Craig was 2-for-3 with two homers and four RBIs for the Redbirds. Also powering the De Pere offense were Micah Zirbel and Bella Robinett with three hits, including a double, while Payton Spaeth, Nataleigh Piper and Emma Baugnet had two hits each.
Wrightstown 13, Howards Grove 3
WRIGHTSTOWN – Wrightstown took advantage of six walks and two errors as it cruised past Howards Grove in nonconference play.
After Howards Grove scored one in the top of the first, Wrightstown answered with four in the first, six in the second and three in the third. Howards Grove scored two in the fifth to close out the scoring.
Morgan McKewin, Charlie Bowker, Lola Beyer and Molly Ruebl had two hits each for Wrightstown.
Manawa 11, Clintonville 6
MANAWA – Callie Pethke was 3-for-4, while Katelyn Krueger was 2-for-2 with three RBIs as the Wolves downed the Truckers in nonconference action.
Manawa led 2-0 after one inning but Clintonville grabbed a 5-2 edge in the second. The Wolves retook the lead for good in the third with four runs and added three more in the fourth. The Truckers closed to within 9-6 in the top of the fifth, but Manawa answered with two in the bottom of the frame.
Leading the Clintonville offense was Abby Tate, who was 2-for-4 with a homer and four RBIs, and Claire Papendorf, who was 2-for-4 with a double.
Division 2 regional quarterfinals
Little Chute 2, North Fond du Lac 0
LITTLE CHUTE – Bella Pfrang shut down the Orioles on two hits while striking out eight as the Mustangs earned the regional quarterfinal win.
Hayden Burton doubled, while Abigail Zouski drove in a run to power Little Chute.
The Mustangs scored one run in the first and one in the second.
Marinette 5, New London 4
NEW LONDON – The Marines scored the winning run in the top of the seventh to slip past the Bulldogs in regional quarterfinal action.
New London led 2-0 after one inning, but Marinette scored single runs in the second and third innings to tie it at 2-2. Both teams scored twice in the sixth, setting up the Marines’ heroics.
Ellie Winkelman led the Bulldogs with a double, while Laine Fiane added an RBI.
Winkelman took the loss in the circle, pitching seven innings and allowing nine hits, five runs (two earned) with three walks and 11 strikeouts.
Division 3 regional quarterfinals
Chilton 4, Mishicot 1
MISHICOT – Lauren Roehrig allowed six hits and one unearned run with one walk and two strikeouts to lead the Tigers to the regional quarterfinal win.
Roehrig also led the offense, going 3-for-4 with a double, while Olivia Hoefner was 2-for-2 with an RBI.
Eva Boness led Mishicot with two hits, including a double.
Both teams scored a run in the first, but Chilton took charge with two runs in the fourth and one in the seventh.
GIRLS SOCCER
Kimberly 2, Neenah 1
NEENAH – The Papermakers got two goals from Kennedy Ebben in the Fox Valley Association win over the Rockets.
Laney Sitek and Ayla Raasch had assists for Kimberly (15-1 overall, 8-0 FVA).
Bee Brockert recorded three saves in goal for the Papermakers.
Menasha 1, Green Bay East 0
MENASHA – Mariana Miller scored the Bluejays’ only goal in the win over the Red Devils.
Madison Mulder have five saves in goal for Menasha.
Freedom 5, Marinette 0
MARINETTE – Adria Ponschock had three goals to lead the Irish to the win over the Marines.
Ava Calhoon had a goal and three assists for Freedom. Brooklyn Meyer had one goal, while Ally Daul had one assist.
Sophia Johnson was in goal for the shutout for Freedom. She did not have any saves.
Luxemburg-Casco 8, Clintonville 0
CLINTONVILLE – Emi Kuhn scored three goals, including one in the first minute, while adding two assists to help power the Spartans past the Truckers in North Eastern Conference action.
Aaliyah Wallace added three goals and one assist, while Maggie Pravechek and Kilee Barbiaux added goals.
Registering assists for Luxemburg-Casco were Monroe Schaenhofer and Alana Mrotek.
Teagan Gunderson was in goal for the Spartans, but did not register a save.
Hannah Wester made 17 saves in net for Clintonville.
