Arsenal clinches Premier League title after Manchester City’s loss to Bournemouth

Arsenal has won the Premier League title following Manchester City’s lossto Bournemouth on Tuesday.

Manchester City entered Tuesday four points behind the Gunners needing to win both of its final two matches to have a chance at a fifth title in six seasons. The 1-0 lossto Bournemouth means Arsenal are now 14-time English top-flight champions, which includes four Premier League titles.

The title ends a three-year run that saw Arsenal finish in second place — twice behind Manchester City and 10 points behind Liverpool last season.

Arsenal’s last Premier League title came during the 2003-04 season, which saw them dubbed the “Invincibles” after finishing the season unbeaten with 26 wins and 12 draws.

Premier League silverware isn’t the only silverware the Gunners could celebrate this month. On May 30, Arsenal will travel to Budapest’s Puskás Aréna to face reigning title holders Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final.
