The Auburn Tigers are set to open the Auburn Regional on Friday at Plainsman Park against the Milwaukee Panthers.
The Tigers are a regional host for the second-straight season and will work to make their third College World Series appearance since 2019. Their journey begins Friday against Milwaukee, a squad that snuck into the NCAA Tournament by stunning Horizon League favorite Wright State in the conference tournament.
Jake Marciano will toe the rubber for the Auburn Tigers on Friday. He enters the weekend with a 5-5 record, 100 strikeouts, and an ERA of 2.64 over 15 previous starts. He will battle Gavin Theis of Milwaukee, who won the Horizon League’s Pitcher of the Year award in 2025. This season, Theis is 2-3 with a 4.91 ERA and 56 strikeouts. His most recent outing was the longest of the season for him. He tossed eight innings of five-hit baseball and tied a season-high in strikeouts (6) in the Panthers’ 5-4 win over Wright State on May 23.
