The No. 1 ITA-ranked Auburn women’s tennis is set to play LSU in the NCAA Championship Quarterfinals on Friday, May 15, at 9 a.m. CT in Athens, Georgia.
After defeating No. 15 Duke 4-2 last Friday, Auburn now advances to their first NCAA Championship Quarterfinals in program history. The Tigers’ opponent has been set as they will face No. 10 LSU on Friday, May 15, at 9 a.m. CT at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex.
This will be the third meeting between the SEC rivals this season. The first matchup came on Mar. 7 as Auburn defeated LSU 4-2, and in the second time the two faced off, Auburn pulled out the win in a close 4-3 victory over LSU to claim the SEC Championship.
The winner of Friday will play the winner of No. 5 North Carolina vs. No. 3 Texas A&M on Saturday, May 16, in the NCAA Championship Semifinals, and the championship final will take place the following day on Sunday, May 17
