Barcelona are gearing up for a busy summer transfer window as they look to not only reinforce their squad but also move on from the likes of Robert Lewandowski.
The Pole’s exit will go a long way in alleviating some of the pressure in the balance sheet, potentially even helping the club return to the 1:1 rule.
This will help Barcelona spend more money in the market, and that is where Alberto Moleiro comes into the fray.

According to Diario SPORT, Barcelona have been in contact with Moleiro’s representatives to explore the possibility of a future signing, with the Catalan club continuing to hold the Villarreal midfielder in very high regard.
Barcelona’s interest in Moleiro is not new. When he was still at Las Palmas, the club monitored him closely, viewing him as a player with the technical profile and positional intelligence to thrive in their style of play.
His ability to operate between the lines, link up with teammates in tight spaces and carry the ball in advanced areas ticked many of the boxes the sporting management look for.
Moleiro has scored 10 goals this season and established himself as an undisputed starter under Marcelino.
The deal and what stands in the way

Moleiro has three years remaining on his contract and will turn 23 at the start of next season. His release clause is set at €50 million, though Villarreal are understood to be open to negotiating if Barcelona make a formal approach.
The player himself could prove to be the decisive factor. Moleiro has been a Barcelona fan since childhood, and representing the club at their new stadium is described as his biggest dream.
He is also on Luis de la Fuente’s World Cup shortlist, with the summer tournament offering him one final chance to showcase his talent on the biggest stage before what could be a defining transfer window.
