Barça Could Finally Play in Morocco This Summer
FC Barcelona are reportedly planning a return to Africa as part of their upcoming preseason tour, with Morocco now a strong possibility after last year’s cancellation.
The Catalan giants were initially scheduled to face a local Botola side in Morocco, but the match was called off due to a congested fixture list under coach Hansi Flick.
This time, however, the club appears ready to revive those plans.
Friendly Against Botola Side Back on the Table
According to reports, Barcelona could face a team from the Moroccan league during preseason preparations. The exact opponent is yet to be confirmed, but the match would serve as a major event for fans in Morocco.
The fixture also carries emotional significance, especially for rising star Lamine Yamal, who has Moroccan roots. However, he may miss the match due to international commitments ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Kenya Also on the Cards – Liverpool Clash Possible
In addition to Morocco, Barcelona are also considering a trip to Kenya, where they could face Liverpool FC in another high-profile friendly.
If confirmed, this would mark a significant expansion of Barça’s global outreach, particularly in Africa where the club enjoys a massive fan base.
A Return to Familiar Ground
Barcelona have previously played in Morocco, famously defeating Raja Casablanca 8-0 back in 2012.
A return would not only reconnect the club with North African supporters but also strengthen its presence across the continent.
