Bayern Munich 0-0 Heidenheim: Game rather dormant so far

PARIS, FRANCE – APRIL 28: Jamal Musiala of FC Bayern München looks on during the UEFA Champions League 2025/26 Semi Final First Leg match between Paris Saint-Germain and FC Bayern München at Parc des Princes on April 28, 2026 in Paris, France. 7’ — It’s Heidenheim’s turn to stray offside.

4’ — Nicolas Jackson flagged offside for his run in behind the Heidenheim defence.

Kickoff! — We’re off for the first half!

Lineups are out! Vincent Kompany has rolled out what appears to be a team somewhere between B+ and A- level. What’s surprising about this team is that perennial starters Luis Díaz and Joshua Kimmich have dropped down to the bench.

Bayern Munich has its work cut out as the first leg of the Champions League semi-final against Paris Saint-Germain ended up in a 5-4 loss for the Bavarians. Next week will be extremely crucial for progressing to the final, but Bayern will host basement boys Heidenheim today.

The last match between the two teams ended in a 4-0 win for the Rekordmeister at Heidenheim’s ground. With Bayern facing a team who was the joint-worst defensive record in the league and an attack that only scored nine more than the worst in the league, this may be a relatively easy outing for them. However, relegation teams are usually motivated, and Heidenheim did win two of their last three games. That’s food for thought.
